Art is part of the Festival

Already in the design of the first image of the Slovenian Wine Festival in 1998, our designers have tried to express the substantive concept of the events, now the two events, also graphically. Therefore in the first decade several well-known Slovenian artists were invited to participate in planning the design of the Festival. For the second decade, together with our designers, we wish to emphasize this element as one of the characteristics of the Festivals: every year Studio Bons will invite a recognized charismatic personality from one of the fine arts areas to design a poster for our events.

11 Slovenian Wine Festival and 1 Culinary Festival was marked by an illustrator NATAN.

The artist of the 12 Slovenian Wine Festival and 2 Culinary Festival was PETER ŠTROVS.

“A painting” is not just “the image” it carries. It should be taken as “an artefact”. That consists of the painting as the material “object”, the “image” it carries and, as I call it disdainingly, the “metaphysical ballast”. The latter consists of all the stories within, about and around the painting, “artistic” and financial value, the record of past transactions, personal histories of the author, the owner and anyone connected with the painting and so on.
