With Trstenjak to wine

Slovenia is known as a wine-growing country. Acknowledgements received by the Slovenian wine producers at home and abroad show that Slovenia produces exquisite wines and is justifiably proud of its wine industry. Grapevine covers more than 22.000 ha of the three Slovenian wine-growing regions – Podravje, Posavje and Primorje – whereas the Slovenian capital also has its own grapevine.

Right in the city center, on Trubarjeva Street 3, up the wall of the oldest foundation Ustanova dr. Antona Trstenjaka climbs a famous grapevine, donated to the city of Ljubljana by the academician whose work was dedicated to development of the rural areas of Slovenia – dr. Trstenjak himself.

Dr. Trstenjak and its grapevine deserve respect and good care and the inhabitants of Ljubljana should know that they can be justifiably proud of this legacy. Therefore every year in March the Coupage of Trstenjak Grapevine is organized. Whereas you are kindly invited to join us in the company of this grapevine in September and celebrate the Harvesting of Trstenjak Grapevine.
