SUMMER WINE SPOILS
In four days, our special summer event called “Summer wine spoils” will start. Visitors will be able to enjoy various culinary delights and wine samples at almost 80 exhibition stands around the City Hall of Ljubljana and the Ljubljanica river bank.
In front of the City Hall you will be able to taste wine and food from the Istra region. The wine and food producers from the Karst region and Vipava region will be waiting for you on Stritarjeva Street. Cankarjevo nabrežje will host producers from the Štajerska region. On Ciril-Metodov square you will find wine-makers from the Dolenjska region, Bela krajina region, Goriška Brda region and Bizeljsko region. Moreover, we prepared several accompanying activities, such as folklore dancers… to ensure a good atmosphere during the event. For detailed information check the PROGRAM.
We kindly invite you to join us at “Summer wine spoils”, which will take place on this Saturday, 18 June 2011 between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. in the old city centre of Ljubljana.

The results of the most likable wine selection of the various interest groups are know. The categories included twenty wines that were chosen by an expert panel of Slovenian Wine Festival. It has been shown to have quite similar taste.
Coolest wine groups of women, the connoisseur and lover of wines, wine groups Slovenian Association of the Knights Order of the Knights of wine and Groups of young lawyers (with the exception of the last category, this group has been assessed):
• Among the sparkling wines - sparkling brut Zlata Radgonska 2004, Radgonske gorice
• During the dry white wines - Sauvignon 2009, Steyer wine
• The red wines - Cabernet Sauvignon Bagueri 2007, Gorica Hills Wine Cellar
• Among white wines, with the remaining sugar - Vaneja 2003 Steyer, Steyer wine

• Among white wines, with the remaining sugar - Sauvignon dry berry selection in 2009, Kmečka zadruga Krško
Coolest wine group of members of Rotary Club Ljubljana 25:
• Among the sparkling wines - Zlata Radgonska extra dry champagne 2007, Radgonske gorice
• During the dry white wines - Sauvignon 2009, Steyer wine
• The red wines - red Carisma Cuvee 2007, Vina Saksida
• Among white wines, with the remaining sugar - Vaneja 2003 Steyer, Steyer wine
Visitors were also able to select their most likable wine. The results will be published later.
Try more than 600 wine samples and culinary delights on Thursday, 18 November, and Friday, 19 November 2010. This year the biggest wine-culinary event in Slovenia offers you the opportunity to visit more than 200 exhibitors. During the festivals you can join as at several workshops where experts will lead you through the story of wines, sometimes even in combination with food.

Why play with speculation, as we soon will be surrounded by the true abundance and harvests of different wines at the 13th Slovenian Wine Festival, on 18 and 19 November at the Hotel Slon and Grand Hotel Union. In the list of exhibitors you may find this year's wine producers and wine samples, which will be represented.
This is world famous light, foamed dessert originating from Italy and is prepared by whisking egg yolks, wine and sugar. For someone this combination can be quite unusual, but it is perfect for winter days and the upcoming St. Martin’s day. Start it as follows: put 2 yolks, 1 whole egg and 100g sugar in the kettle and gently stir, then place it over a water bath. Add 2 dl of dry white wine (or red) and beat with wire whisk until mixture is doubled. Serve warm or cold as dessert or as sauce for dessert. Bon appetite and see you soon on 18th and 19 November at the Hotel Slon and Grand Hotel Union.
